Health CS Nakhumicha Meets with US Ambassador Meg Whitman

Nairobi, Kenya - Onย Fridayย 24th April 2024, the Cabinet Secretary for Health Nakhumicha S. Wafula welcomed Her Excellency Meg Whitman, the US Ambassador, for a fruitful discussion on partnership opportunities across various programs.ย 

ย During the meeting, the CS recognized the vital role of partners like USAID in strengthening health systems and supporting improvements in various areas such as workforce development, health information systems, supply chain management, and more.ย ย 

The discussion also touched on preparations for the upcoming state visit by H.E President Dr. William Ruto to the US and the progress made in implementing Universal Health Coverage to ensure accessible and quality healthcare.ย 

ย Ambassador Whitman highlighted the significance of the visit in commemorating the 60th anniversary of US-Kenya diplomatic relations, emphasizing the impactful partnership between both nations.ย 

ย The Government of Kenya values its longstanding development cooperation with the US Government, particularly in health programs addressing HIV, TB, Malaria, Reproductive, and Maternal Health, among others.
