Partnerships To Fortify Universal Health Coverage Efforts

Nairobi Monday October 23, 2023 Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni of the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards has today met with the CEOs of Kenya Medical TRAINING College and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council and Mr. Gerald Warui, Managing Director of Equity Bank. The purpose was to explore strategic partnerships to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in Kenya.

They discussed potential collaborations in four key areas:

1. Expanding healthcare access through Equity Afya Clinics.

2. Promoting environmental sustainability.

3. Creating innovative programs for student placements.

4. Launching initiatives to enhance financial literacy among medical students and staff.

The primary objective of this meeting was to foster collaboration between Equity Bank and the Ministry of Health, with a strong emphasis on UHC implementation, to fortify Kenya's healthcare system for the benefit of all its citizens.
