CS Kagwe commissions a new CT-Scan at KNH

Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe cuts a ribbon to open Kenyatta National Hospital CT Scan centre 

Sunday March 22, 2020, The Cabinet Secretary for  Health Mutahi Kagwe today launched the Kenyatta National Hospital Diagnostic and Reporting Centre, which incorporates a medical Teleconferencing facility and artificial intelligent tele-radiology center.

The CT scanner equipment is able to detect COVID-19 before it is active thus ensuring isolation of patients in good time and takes less than a minute to get results.
The center will also connect live to Wuhan China for timely demonstrations in treatment of Coronavirus and leverage on Tele-radiology to capture & interpret COVID-19 CT scan remotely from the 47 Counties.
The teleconferencing services at the center offers doctors from all cover the world an opportunity to interact with their peers locally to share best practices in various issues. ‘

During the commissioning the CS commended health workers for the efforts they have put in to fight coronavirus and assured them of the Government’s support to ensure they are protected.
