CS KAGWE LAUNCHES END MALARIA COUNCIL

Health Cabinet Secretary Senator Mutahi Kagwe when he launched  the first ever End Malaria Council in the country.  Last year upon taking over the chairmanship of of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta called for the establishment of the Country led Malaria Councils and Funds as part of his legacy agenda towards the elimination of malaria from the the African Continent. The Council is the fifth to be launched in Africa after Eswatini, Uganda, Zambia and Mozambique. The CS said the Council will play a critical role in mobilizing local resources to drive the agenda of malaria control and elimination in Kenya in a much more sustainable way. The Council consists of Chris Getonga (Chair), Dorothy Nyongo, Patrick Quarco, Jacinta Wasike, Isaac Maluki, Dr Matilu Mwau, Joyce Momanyi, Dr Beatrice Maingi, Eva Muthuri, Roneek Vora and Dr Willis Akhwale (Secretary).
