Deputy President Hon William Ruto visited Longisa Referral Hospital on February 16, 2019 to assess the about-to-be-completed CT-scan and the renal units. He was accompanied by Health Principal Secretary Eng. Peter Tum.
The Deputy President said the two units, together with other national government’s projects at the hospital including theatre, radiology and chemotherapy units would save residents the cost of travel to far away health facilities to seek similar services.
Theatre staff said they had recorded vertical increase of cases following the installation of the theatre equipment.
A Chemotherapy unit is in the final stages of installation to serve patients diagnosed with cancer.
PS Peter Tum urged the hospital to create more awareness about the equipment for the public to utilize the MES equipment, which he said would transform the health landscape in the county.
