Evidence based data to guide priority investment in health.

       

Nairobi, March 6,2023

 Principal Secretary Ministry of Health, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards has urged the Department of Laboratory Services at the Ministry to give the government timely, accurate and evidence based data to guide in policy making and priority investment areas in the control, prevention and treatment of HIV,TB, malaria and other key diseases especially those linked to climate change and emerging issues like Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR) and re-emerging pathogens like Ebola.

She made a familiarization visit to the department to discuss key priority areas in the context of alignment with the government manifesto and to identify key areas that need strengthening in the context of pandemic preparedness and response.

The PS urged the various units with the Lab Department to work in unity for better pandemic preparedness and response.
