The annual meeting was initiated by Nigerian cancer advocate, Nikky Onyeri, the founder of the global acclaimed Princess Nikky Breast and Cervical Cancer Foundation.

The Output-Based Approach Voucher Programme offers poor women full access to reproductive health services, such as safe motherhood, including antenatal care, delivery, whether normal or by caesarean section, postnatal care and medical attention for the newborn baby for six weeks, as well as family planning and gender-based violence recovery services. The Programme was developed within the framework of Kenyan-German Co-operation in 2006 and is currently being implemented in four rural Counties – Kiambu, Kitui, Kilifi and Kisumu, and in two urban slums in Nairobi -Korogocho and Viwandani.
