Government of Kenya launches deworming programme for pupils. Siaya (Kenya) March 11, 2020

Kenya’s ministries of Education and Health with technical support from Evidence Action today kicked off rounds of National Based Deworming programme (NSBD) in Siaya County by visiting two primary schools, Sidundo & Dibuoro Primary.
The National School Based Deworming programme is targeting 3.2M children in the first wave (March) and 3.4M children in the second wave (May/June).
 “Bilharzia is a challenge affecting children especially along the lake region in Siaya county and hence the need for public education and sensitization..” the Siaya County Commissioner Mr. Micheal Oletila said during the launch of the exercise.
Dr. Ann Mwangi, Head of Division of Adolescents and School Health represented the Ministry of Health at the event.
