Health Principal Secretary meets Thailand Ambassador to discuss Kenya-Thailand cooperation in health Nairobi July 22.

Health Principal Secretary (PS) Susan Mochache today met Thailand Ambassador to Kenya, Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat to discuss areas of Kenya-Thailand Cooperation in health.

Kenya and Thailand have standing Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Insurance and Health Financing, Priority setting on the benefits package of UHC using Health Technology Assessments (HTA), Human Resources for Health Development and Health Systems Strengthening.

Through the MOUs, Thailand has provided technical Assistance in drafting a Health Technology Assessment framework in Kenya.

The PS acknowledged Thailand as a Medical hub in Asia and the World and as pacesetters in UHC. Ms Tangulrat on her side assured of Thailand’s commitment to walk with Kenya in the UHC journey.

The two leaders also initiated talks on further cooperation in vaccine and ARV manufacturing, health workers capacity building and research that will guide evidence based improvement in school health.
