Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache to lead the Africa Constituency Board of the Global Fund


Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache has been appointed as board Chairperson for the Africa Constituency Bureau (ACB) and Board Member of the Eastern and Southern Constituency (ESA) of the Global Fund.

The ACB is made of 47 Africa Countries that are beneficiaries of the Global Fund support towards elimination of HIV, and TB Malaria.

The Countries are further divided into two constituencies namely: Eastern and Southern (ESA) and Western and Central Africa(WCA).

ACB supports Africa leadership to effectively advocate for increased resources to bridge the existing gaps in funding through innovative approaches.

The Board also promotes effective policy and greater visibility of global health policy in relation to the priorities of ending HIV,TB and Malaria in Africa.

PS Mochache has this week hosted the ACB .The meeting discussed the Global Fund funding strategy for Africa 2023-2028 set to be adopted this month.

The meeting also discussed the gains made towards ending the three diseases in the continent and how to maintain and build on the gains despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to these appointments, PS Mochache was an Alternate Board member of the ESA Constituency.
