Kenya is the founding member of AMCOA whose primary purpose is to support medical regulatory authorities to protect public interest by promoting high standards of medical education, registration of dental practitioners as well as facilitating the ongoing exchange of information among medical regulatory authorities.

Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Councils currently hosts AMCOA Committee Secretariat. Kenya is currently hosting AMCOA Annual Capacity Building Workshop. The objective of the work is to equip regulators with skills in core governance, operational functions and strategic planning.
