Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Dualeย ย held discussions with World Bank Kenya officials, led by Dr. Peter Okwero, at Afya House to explore enhanced cooperation in supporting Kenyaโ€™s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) implementation.

The CS emphasized the critical need for safe blood nationwide and called for robust investment in regional and satellite blood centers, particularly in underserved areasโ€”a key step in reducing maternal mortality.

Key priority areas for collaboration under Kenyaโ€™s Taifa Care Model included:
- Establishing a national ambulance dispatch center to ensure timely emergency evacuations from homes to health facilities and between facilities.
- Strengthening Primary Health Care through expanded community health services, health commodity security, and workforce investments.
- Accelerating digital health transformation to improve service efficiency and equity, especially in rural and underserved regions.
- Expanding financial protection via the rollout of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
- Investing in climate-resilient health infrastructure to mitigate climate-related health risks.

Hon. Duale urged the World Bank to align its support with Kenyaโ€™s health goals and reaffirmed the Ministryโ€™s commitment to a transparent, accountable partnership.
