Health CS Hon. Aden Duale Rallies KHHRAC to Drive Health Workforce Reforms Under UHC Agenda

Health Cabinet Secretary Hon Aden Dualeย ย chaired an inaugural meeting with the Kenya Health Human Resource Advisory Council (KHHRAC)ย ย at Afya House, led by Dr. Francis Wafula, to reinforce government's transformative agenda under Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The Council presented its mandate and operational framework, demonstrating commitment to optimizing Kenya's health workforce. The CS emphasized alignment with the Ministry's broader health sector reforms.

To strengthen Kenya's health workforce and build a more resilient health system, the CS outlined key priorities:

1. Full integration of KHHRAC operations with the Ministry's Digital Superhighway initiative
2. Strict adherence to constitutional principles and Health Act in all Council activities

Hon Duale challenged members to position KHHRAC as the driving force behind:
- Achieving health workforce equity across all regions
- Fostering innovation in human resources for health
- Accelerating progress toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

The CS highlighted the Ministry's investments to ensure all Kenyans - from urban centers to remote villages - have access to competent, motivated and adequately supported healthcare professionals.

Hon Duale underscored the Council's vital role in transforming Kenya's health sector and urged full commitment to this cause. The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards Ms Mary Muthoni and Director General for Health Dr Patrick Amoth.
