Koskei Calls for Results-Driven Regulation to Improve Public Service Delivery
Kitui May8,2026 The Head of Public Service Mr. Felix Koskei has called on Regulatory Authorities and Agencies to strengthen accountability, coordination, and focus on delivering measurable impact that wananchi can experience in their daily lives.
Speaking during Day the the 3rd Annual Regulatory Authorities and Agencies Conference in Kitui, Mr. Koskei urged regulators to move beyond procedural compliance and embrace practical, efficient, and results-driven regulation that supports responsive public service delivery.
The conference, held under the theme “Consistent Measurement and Evaluation of Real Regulatory Impact on the Ground,” brought together Principal Secretaries, Board Chairpersons, Chief Executive Officers, regulators, and governance experts to deliberate on strengthening regulatory effectiveness, institutional accountability, and citizen-centred service delivery.
Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, joined the high-level engagements, which focused on enhancing integrity, efficiency, consistency, and public confidence in regulatory systems.
The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regulatory systems, improving institutional performance, and advancing accountable, people-centred healthcare service delivery in support of Universal Health Coverage.
