The State Department for Medical Servicesย ย convened a high-level consultative meeting with the Public Service Commission (PSC) to address critical human resource management issues within Kenyaโs health sector.
The meeting, chaired by Principal Secretary Dr. Ouma Oluga, brought together key officials including PSC Commissioners Francis Meja and Dr. Irene Asiega, to deliberate on matters relating to recruitment and establishment, performance management systems, internal controls, pension reporting, payroll management, and staff training and development.
In his remarks, Dr. Oluga emphasized the pivotal role of the PSC in advancing the governmentโs priority agenda as set out in Executive Order No. 1 of 2025, underscoring the need for robust HR structures to support health sector reforms.
Commissioner Meja reaffirmed the Commissionโs commitment to improving public service delivery, particularly within the healthcare system.
Also in attendance were Dr. Amos Amoth, Director General for Health, Mr. James Ntabo, Secretary Administration, and other senior PSC officials.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration and enhance efficiency in the management of human resources for health.
