Kenya on the right track towards Universal Health Coverage says PS Muthoni

Nairobi , 2024 At the Core Group Global Health Practitioners Conference (GHPC) 2024, Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni underscored Kenya’s dedication to Universal Health Coverage (UHC) with a comprehensive strategy to ensure that 'no Kenyan is left behind in accessing quality healthcare.'

Kenya's approach, she noted, includes establishing the Social Health Authority to reduce out-of-pocket costs, equipping Community Health Promoters with essential tools, expanding primary healthcare infrastructure, and advancing digital health innovations. 'Our Community Health Promoters are the heartbeat of health delivery in local settings,' PS Muthoni said, adding that investing in community health translates to 'savings in both lives and resources.'

With 42 nations present, GHPC 2024 offers an invaluable platform to share knowledge, foster partnerships, and advance this year’s theme, 'Healthy Communities: Sustainable Environment.' Together, these initiatives drive us closer to a resilient, equitable health system for all Kenyans."
