CS for Health Engages Senate Health Committee on Key Sector Reforms Nairobi
πππ§π²π - πππ‘ πππ«ππ‘ ππππ - Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah Barasa, held a consultative meeting with the Senate Health Committee, led by Chairperson Senator Jackson Mandago.Β
The discussions focused on critical health sector reforms, including the ongoing Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) restructuring, the implementation of a track-and-trace system, and strategies to enhance drug availability in health facilities.Β
Β Additionally, the meeting explored the integration of Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) into the healthcare system and their alignment with the Social Health Authority (SHA) to improve service delivery.Β
Β The session was attended by Senators Ledama Olekina, David Wakoli, and Oketch Gichure, alongside key stakeholders, including Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Harry Kimtai, KEMSA CEO Dr. Waqo Ekesa, Director of Commercial Services Eliud Muriithi, and representatives from the Ministry of Health and SHA.
