Dr. Ouma Oluga Meets Social Health Authority Team on Advancing Universal Health Coverage

Nairobi, Kenya 

Principal Secretary for the State Department for Medical Services, Dr. Ouma Oluga, has commended the Social Health Authority for its efforts in advancing the government’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda. He emphasized the importance of aligning the Authority’s role with national priorities to ensure an efficient, effective, and seamless healthcare system.

The remarks were made during an inaugural meeting held at Afya House, Nairobi, with the Authority’s management team led by Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr. Robert Ingasira.

Dr. Ingasira briefed the Principal Secretary on the Authority’s mandate and the progress made in its implementation, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to strengthening service delivery for all Kenyans.

“We need to build an institution that is competent to undertake its mandate,” said Dr. Oluga, reinforcing the government’s vision for a responsive and accountable healthcare system.
