Ministry of Health Dispatches Emergency Team to Utumishi Girls Academy
Nakuru ,2026 The Ministry of Health has dispatched emergency response teams, trauma counselors, and psychological support personnel to the ground to support affected students, families, and the school community following the tragic fire incident at Utumishi Girls Academy in Nakuru County. The teams are working closely with Nakuru County health teams, line agencies, and relevant Government ministries to coordinate response efforts and mobilize the necessary human resources, medical supplies, and equipment required during this emergency.
Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni visited the school and condoled with the affected families, students, teachers, and the entire school community, assuring them of the Government’s full support during this difficult period.
The PS reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that all affected students and families receive the medical, psychosocial, and emotional support they need as investigations and response efforts continue.
