PS Mary Muthoni Highlights Key Health Projects at Chief Officers' Meeting in Kwale County

Kwale,  , 2024 The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni,  joined Chief Officers for Health from across the country during their quarterly consultative meeting held in Diani, Kwale County. 

In her address, Ms. Muthoni provided critical updates on the Ministry of Health’s trailblazing projects under the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BETA).

The PS highlighted several major initiatives aimed at transforming the public health sector, including Community Health promoters (CHPs) program, the Building Resilient and Responsive Health Systems Project, which seeks to enhance the country’s preparedness and ability to respond to health crises. 

Ms. Muthoni also discussed the Social Health Insurance Act of 2023, noting the government's commitment to a smooth transition under the new policy.

Additionally, the PS outlined the National Equipment Service Programme, a comprehensive plan to modernize and upgrade medical equipment in health facilities across the country.

“These projects represent our commitment to achieving a resilient, responsive, and equitable healthcare system,” Ms. Muthoni stated. “We are building a future where every Kenyan can access affordable and quality healthcare, regardless of their location.”
