New York  25,2024 , Principal Secretary,  Mary Muthoni, represented H.E  President  William Ruto in a meeting at the UN hosted by the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, H.E. Gaston Alphonso, and co-hosted by WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros.

The meeting focused on global efforts in preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Kenya shared progress in combating NCDs, including scaling up prevention, early detection, and treatment through Community Health Promoters at the household level. 

Additionally, the recently enacted Social Health Act  that aims to protect Kenyans from the financial burden of chronic diseases was highlighted.
