PS Muthoni Hold Consultative Meeting with Public Service Commission to Address Department's HR Challenges
, 2025 The State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards held a consultative meeting with the Public Service Commission (PSC) to strengthen coordination on key human resource matters affecting the health sector.
Top on the agenda was the resolution of pending promotion appeals currently before the Commission, particularly within the framework of succession management. The two institutions also reviewed the implementation of the Medical Profession Internship Programme, with discussions centred on streamlining processes and addressing ongoing operational challenges.
Also discussed were matters relating to industrial relations, including staff welfare and the mechanisms for effective dispute resolution. The meeting underscored the importance of continuous training and capacity building as a cornerstone for improving service delivery and developing a resilient health workforce.
The meeting was chaired by the Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni while the delegation from the Commission was led by Commissioners Dr. Irene Asienga and Francis Meja.
