PS Public Health Tours Revital Healthcare to Strengthen Local Manufacturing for UHC
Kilifi , 2024 The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards visited Revital Healthcare (EPZ) Ltd in Kilifi County, reaffirming the Kenya Kwanza administration’s commitment to local manufacturing as a key driver of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The visit follows findings from the Kenya Health Facility Census, which highlighted critical gaps in medical supplies at the primary healthcare level. Supporting local manufacturers like Revital is a strategic move to ensure affordable, high-quality healthcare solutions while strengthening Kenya’s supply chain resilience.
"Strengthening local manufacturing reduces costs, ensures supply chain resilience, and creates jobs. Revital Healthcare is a perfect example of how Kenyan innovation is driving both health and economic transformation," the PS noted.
She reiterated the Government's committment to enhancing regulatory support, public procurement incentives, and export market expansion to boost local production.
Health products and technologies remain a key pillar in achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC), ensuring that every Kenyan has access to essential medical supplies when and where they need them.
