Kenya and Tanzania explore strategies of harmonizing Covid-19 testing protocols and validation systems.

Health Principal Secretary  Susan Mochache met visiting  Permanent Secretary, Ministry of  Health, Community Development, Gender Elderly and Children  for the United Republic of Tanzania, Prof Abel Makubi to explore strategies for harmonizing Covid-19 protocols and validation systems for the two countries in a bid to facilitate seamless trade and tourism across the borders.
The two officials agreed that the countries will recognize respective Covid-19 test results Protocols and Validation systems, beef up surveillance at Points of Entry and sharing of information based on EAC framework on information sharing.
This a follow-up meeting for the one held by Heads of State for the two countries where it was agreed that Kenya and Tanzania will work together several areas of public health.
