Kenya gets INFOODS Success Story Award 2017

NAIROBI, Kenya 14 November 2017, Kenya has been awarded the INFOODS Success story Award 2017 in recognition of successful implementation of food composition activities following a review and updating of the food tables for the country.

The food composition tables project is funded by the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the technical work is led by the Ministry of Health-Human Nutrition and Diatetics Unit in close collaboration with Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and a technical steering committee with members from different universities and other research organizations.

The award was received during the 12th International Food Data Conference (IFDC) in Buenoes Aires, Argentina that took place from 11th-13th October 2017 during which a certificate of recognition was also issued.

FAO Representative in Kenya, Gabriel Rugalema has commended Kenya and the food tables Technical Working Group for winning the  award.
