Kenya has done it again, Congratulations!

Kenya has been nominated as substantive representative members of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) Coordinating Board. The board is chaired by USA.
This was the first time ever for Kenya to attend the board meeting which was held on 23rd to 25th June 2020 at the UN headquarters, Nairobi. Kenya was represented by Susan Mochache, the Principal Secretary for Health, Dr. Pacifica Onyancha, Ag. Director, Directorate of Preventive and Promotive Health, Dr.  Catherine Ngugi, Head NASCOP and Dr. Peace Masinde, Health attache Geneva, Ambassador Dr. Cleopa Mailu, The Permanent representative to The UN and other international organizations.
During 46th PCB meeting, the African Member States requested Kenya to present two agendas
namely UNAIDS Strategy beyond 2021 and the Executive Director UNAIDS report
During the meeting, the German Government announced  additional support to fight HIV. In addition to its annual core contribution of  £2 million Euros, it will contribute a further £20 million Euros to UNAIDS in 2020 to strengthen the response to HIV during this period of COVID-19 Pandemic
