Kenya signs health cooperation MOU with Tunisia. Nairobi (KENYA) October 8, 2019

The Cabinet Secretary for Health Sicily Kariuki today signed an MOU on health cooperation with Tunisia Minister for Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhiinaoui who was by accompanied the Tunisian Ambassador to Kenya Hatem Landouisi.
The five year MOU covers cooperation in the areas of preventive and promotive health, medical training, human resource development, environmental health, prevention & control of communicable and NCDs, medical research, disease surveillance, health tourism and pharmaceuticals & drugs among others.
The CS said the MOU is a good step to enhance partnership and learn best practices for UHC roll out from Tunisian health sector that is more experienced.
The Tunisian Minister for Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhiinaoui lauded Kenya for prioritizing UHC and said his government is ready for partnership with the Kenyan health sector and sharing of experience.
Other areas of health cooperation includes exchange of information, experience and expertise in area of reproductive health, prevention of drug addiction and alcohol, promoting child health in schools and hospital services among others.
