Launch of Port Health Services e-Portal, 27 April 2017

NAIROBI, Kenya, 18 April 2017 – The Ministry of Health has established a new electronic portal to improve processing of import and export health certificates.

The paperless information system dubbed Port Health Services e-Portal is set to enhance service delivery and improve processing of port documents within 12 hours up from 6 days.

The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Cleopa Mailu, is set to launch the new service developed in partnerhsip with TradeMark East Africa (TMEA) on Thursday 27 April 2017 at Crown Plaza.

The system which is intergrated with other government agencies including Kenya Trade Network Agency (KENTRADE) will serve as a platform for all Ports of Entry to share information on events for prompt action.

The e-Portal is user friendly and will improve productivity and increase efficiency with self service which minimizes contact between clients and service providers.

The Ministry of Health has 35 Gazzatted Ports of Entry (PoE) across the country and plans are underway to gazatte two more.  The project is within the framework of the Government keenness to expand the ICT role in improving services provided to citizens in all sectors.
