Nairobi, KENYA July 19 2018 – The Cabinet Secretary for Health Sicily Kariuki held a consultative meeting with bilateral partners from the United States of America and United Kingdom.

The CS called for renewed partnership and assured the partners of the new leadership commitment to improve working relationship.

The Ministry shared with partners a progress report on internal controls and audit reforms being undertaken and highlighted priority areas it seeks the partners to support.

The CS urged the partners to support Government initiatives especially the efforts to steer the Universal Health Coverage agenda to achieve broader benefits for the population.

The Principal Secretary, Eng. Peter Tum also assured the partners that the Ministry has put in place measures to address finance and governance issues.  “We are putting in place internal controls to ensure that accountability at all levels of operations is adhered to,” he said.

The meeting resolved to support existing UHC framework and develop a mechanism to ensure that all funding by partners are prudently managed and accounted for.
