Leveraging on partnership to improve health ICTs and Innovations

Nairobi, KENYA Thursday May 2, 2019 – The Principal Secretary for Health Susan Mochache met officals of the Amref Health Africa Kenya to explore ways through which the Ministry of Health and AMREF can leverage on partnership to improve health Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) and other innovations to strengthen the Primary Health Care (PHC) System in the country.

They also deliberated on ways of improving citizen and stakeholder engagement through strategic communication and action based engagements for successful implementation of programmes

The PS emphasized “A strengthened Primary Health Care will ensure access to health services at the grassroots level thus accelerating attainment of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).’’

AMREF uses innovations to encourage Tuberculosis case finding across the 47 counties, they support Community Case Management of Malaria in 10 Counties in Nyanza and Western Kenya and offer technical support to critical arms in the design and implementation of UHC.

The PS pledged the Ministry’s total cooperation to ensure success of health programmes.
