Nairobi Kenya, March 15, 2023 –  In a move aimed at improving healthcare services in Trans Nzoia County and the entire region, the national government has pledged to equip and operationalize the Trans Nzoia Teaching and Referral Hospital with modern equipment.
Speaking at State House today, President William Ruto reiterated the government’s commitment to providing Kenyans with quality and affordable healthcare. He received a delegation of leaders from Trans Nzoia County, led by Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Nakhumicha S Wafula.
The delegation comprised Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembea, MPs Patrick Simiyu and Ferdinand Wanyonyi, Senator Allan Chesang, Lilian Siyoi, Trans Nzoia members of the County Assembly, and opinion leaders.
The move by the government is expected to boost the capacity of the hospital to offer top-notch health services to the county and the entire region. The modern equipment to be installed will ensure that the hospital has the necessary tools to handle complex medical procedures.
The government’s commitment to improving healthcare services in the country is a welcome move, especially for residents of Trans Nzoia County and the surrounding areas. Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right for all Kenyans, and the government’s efforts to provide this service are commendable.
The Trans Nzoia Teaching and Referral Hospital is expected to become a leading healthcare facility in the region once the modern equipment is installed and operationalized. With improved capacity and advanced medical equipment, the hospital will be better placed to handle complex medical cases, thus reducing the need for patients to travel long distances to seek medical attention.
