National Immunization consultative forum held at Safari Park Hotel. Nairobi, KENYA February 15, 2019

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Dr.Rashid Amani making remarks at the National Immunization consultative forum held at Safari Park Hotel.  Immunization services has reduced the burden of vaccine preventable diseases by 70%, from the year 2000
According to the Ministry of Health, Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), Dr. Rashid Aman the reduction  is due to concerted effort of various stakeholders and County Governments.
“Today, we celebrate the technical leadership, the County Leadership and our technical partners for having met our Immunization targets of 80% nationally,” the CAS said during the National Consultative Immunization forum.
He however, noted that some counties are still lagging behind in coverage and emphasized the need to further improve coverage, achieve equity and institute measures to sustain the coverage and track all children that may have been missed with vaccines.
He advised the stakeholder to to support targeted outreaches regularly to reach the underserved communities, strengthen routine Immunization, improve reporting and ensure that no user fees are charged on immunization services in both public, private and Faith based Health facilities that are supported by the Government to offer immunization services.
