Nairobi, Thursday June 13,2019. Health Principal Secretary Susan Mochache today met Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Kenya Chief Representative Mr. Katsutoshi Komori to discuss Kenya-Japan Health Cooperation.
The PS emphasized on the need for support to strengthen the health infrastructure to ensure a resilient system that can respond effectively to Kenya’s health needs, to ensure affordable and accessible healthcare for all.
JICA has been supporting the Government through the Health Sector Policy Loan for Universal Health Coverage Programme. Phase one of the programme has come to an end; the Ministry has proposed establishment of a wound care centre, establishment of a fungal diseases care centre and expansion of the Kenyatta National Hospital as areas of support for phase two of the programme.
