Strengthen partnership to accelerate UHC Mailu urges African states

Africa has a huge potential for partnerships to accelerate progress towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Health CS, Dr. Cleopa Mailu said there is need for an all inclusive solutions to Africa’s unique health challenges. The CS made the remarks through the DMS, Dr. Jackson Kioko at the ongoing Africa Health Agenda conference in Nairobi. The theme of the conference is ”Towards a Healthier Africa, People, Systems and Innovations. He said  a lot still has to be done in the prevention  and  management of communicable and non communicable diseases adding that social cultural barriers contributes to individual and societal receptiveness for available healthcare services. He urged African states to prioritize more investments in the health sector to enhance capacities for implementation of interventions that will contribute to the realization of UHC and SDGs
