Britam Foundation partners with the Ministry of Health to advance the Epuka Uchafu initiative 

Nairobi , 2026 The Britam Foundation has partnered with the Ministry of Health, through the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, to advance the "Epuka Uchafu, Afya Nyumbani" national campaign aimed at promoting proper hand hygiene, environmental cleanliness, safe water practices and improved sanitation across the country.

Speaking when she received the support Principal Secretary , Mary Muthoni, said the partnership underscores the critical role of public-private collaboration in advancing preventive healthcare and strengthening community-led interventions.

 She noted that the support will enhance community sensitization through Community Health Promoters (CHPs), facilitate clean-up activities, and provide essential sanitation and hygiene tools to support the nationwide rollout of the campaign.

The PS commended the Britam Foundation for its continued support of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives, saying that such partnerships are key to building cleaner, healthier and more resilient communities for all Kenyans.
