Community Health Promoters trained ahead of SHA rollout.

Nairobi , 2014 Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni,  toured Community Health Promoters (CHPs) training sites in Mavoko (Machakos County), Langata (Nairobi County), and Wangige (Kiambu County) to oversee preparations for the rollout of Social Health Authority (SHA) services.

As frontline health workers, CHPs are integral to delivering government health services at the community level, acting as the first point of contact between the public and the healthcare system.

Ms. Muthoni underscored the crucial role CHPs play in preventive health, education, and connecting communities to essential services, ensuring that the government’s health initiatives, including Universal Health Coverage (UHC), reach even the most remote areas.
