Kericho, Kenya - 9th May 2025 - In line with the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda under the Kenya Kwanza Administration’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), I joined the leadership and residents of Kericho County to reaffirm our commitment to strengthening the health sector.

In my address, I highlighted the government’s ongoing health sector reforms, including the rollout of Social Health Authority (SHA) registration and benefit packages, and the digitization of health services—critical components in operationalizing the Taifa Care Model.

I also announced the construction of a Level 6 Teaching and Referral Hospital in partnership with the African Development Bank (AfDB)—a transformative project that marks a major step toward achieving UHC.

Further, I called on the county leadership to ensure all Primary Health Care facilities are fully incorporated into the SHA programme.

I was honoured to be hosted by Governor H.E. Erick Mutai and joined by National Assembly Majority Leader Hon. Kimani Ichung’wah and other distinguished government leaders.
