Health CS Engages BADEA to Accelerate Flagship Health Projects

𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚 - 𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 - Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale  hosted a high-level delegation from the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), led by Dr. Abdullah Almusaibeeh, for strategic discussions aimed at fast-tracking two key health infrastructure projects: the Paediatric Emergency and Burns Management Centre at Kenyatta National Hospital and the Kisii Cancer Treatment Centre.

Both initiatives, supported by BADEA, represent major milestones in Kenya’s pursuit of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and underscore the government’s commitment to delivering equitable, high-quality healthcare under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).

During the engagement, the CS and BADEA reaffirmed their shared commitment to impactful delivery in the health sector and explored areas for enhanced coordination and deeper collaboration.

Hon. Duale emphasized the Ministry’s full commitment to:
• Timely submission of all outstanding contracts
• Prompt commencement of the remaining project phases
• Delivery of a comprehensive implementation schedule to ensure timely completion and equipment deployment

He further commended BADEA for its unwavering support to Kenya’s health agenda and its broader role in advancing socio-economic development across the continent.

The CS was accompanied by Principal Secretary for Medical Services Dr. Ouma Oluga, Mr. James Ntabo (Chair, Project Implementation Unit), Dr. William Sigilai (CEO, Kenyatta National Hospital), and other senior Ministry officials.
