Health CS Hon. Aden Duale Engages Heads of Ministry Institutions on UHC Implementation
Nairobi, Kenya - - Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale met with Chairpersons and Chief Executive Officers of institutions under the Ministry at Afya Annex, Nairobi County, to discuss their mandates in advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) under Kenya’s transformative agenda.
Hon. Duale emphasized the importance of strong leadership in Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs), urging them to understand their roles in enhancing decision-making to improve health sector coordination and governance.
Accompanied by Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth, the CS expressed confidence in the team’s ability to expand access to quality healthcare at the grassroots level while promoting inter-agency coordination for effective policy implementation.
He reiterated the need for the team to prioritize national interests, support the rollout of the Social Health Authority (SHA), and operate within the framework of the Constitution and Kenyan law. He further emphasized integrity and accountability as key to improving service delivery in the health sector.
