Health CS Meets SAGAs Leadership to Discuss UHC Progress

𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚 - 𝟏𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah Barasa, today held a meeting with chairpersons and CEOs of Semi-Autonomous Government Agencies (SAGAs) under the Ministry of Health. Also present were Principal Secretaries Mr. Harry Kimtai (Medical Services) and Ms. Mary Muthoni (Public Health), alongside Director General for Health, Dr. Patrick Amoth. 

 The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of Taifa Care, the government’s flagship initiative aimed at achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC). Key agenda items included identifying challenges and formulating strategies to accelerate UHC implementation. 

 The Ministry emphasized the importance of improving healthcare financing, enhancing access to essential health products and technologies, and advancing digital health solutions to strengthen the healthcare system.
