Health Sector Leaders Conclude 22nd Intergovernmental Consultative Forum

ππšπ’π«π¨π›π’, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚 - 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐑 πƒπžπœπžπ¦π›πžπ« πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ’ – The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Deborah M. Barasa, officially closed the 22nd Health Sector Intergovernmental Consultative Forum held at the Kenya School of Government.Β 

Themed β€œAccelerating Health Sector Reforms Towards Attaining Universal Health Coverage,” the forum brought together national and county health stakeholders to align strategies for advancing Kenya’s Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals.Β 

Dr. Barasa reiterated Kenya's commitment to achieving UHC by 2030 through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). She emphasized the importance of collaboration between national and county governments in delivering health services, highlighting legislative advancements such as the Social Health Insurance Act and the Primary Health Care Act as pivotal for healthcare reform.Β 

The forum reviewed progress in UHC implementation, focusing on preventive healthcare, digital health solutions, and addressing challenges such as resource mobilization and health workforce constraints. Dr. Barasa called for strengthened partnerships, innovative strategies, and effective monitoring of forum resolutions to ensure consistent progress.
