Kenya and Ghana Strengthen UHC Partnership at AU Bilateral Meeting

Addis Ababa- 14 February 2026 - Health CS Hon. Aden Duale today held a bilateral meeting with Ghana’s Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, on the sidelines of the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union.

The engagement focused on deepening Kenya–Ghana cooperation to accelerate progress toward Universal Health Coverage through accessible, affordable and quality healthcare.

Key areas of collaboration include strengthening the health workforce, sustainable health financing, local manufacturing of medical products and technologies, and advancing digital health transformation.

The two countries agreed to pursue joint frameworks for workforce development and financing, develop a shared roadmap for manufacturing partnerships, and pilot digital health initiatives linking primary healthcare networks.

The CS was accompanied by Nazila Ganatra, Director of Health Products and Technologies, and Lucy Musyoka, Director of Health Standards.
