Kenya receives 10,700 doses of Mpox Vaccines for the high risk population
Kenya takes a bold step in the fight against Mpox as the Ministry of Health receives 10,700 doses of the MVA-BN vaccine. With 68 cases reported across 13 counties, vaccination will focus on high-risk groups—close contacts, long-distance truck drivers, and frontline healthcare workers.
So far, 49 have recovered, 1 death reported, and 327 contacts are under follow-up. We urge all eligible individuals to get vaccinated and help stop the spread.
This milestone is made possible through collaboration with Africa CDC, Amref, UNICEF, WHO, and US CDC. Together, for a safer, healthier Kenya.
