Aden Duale joined President William Ruto in a bilateral meeting with Toyota Tsusho Corp./CFAO (TTC) to strengthen cooperation in healthcare and personal care.

Discussions centered on key areas of partnership, including:
โ€ข Social insurance โ€“ Kenya will study Japanโ€™s social insurance model to inform policy and improve healthcare financing.
โ€ข Clinical methodology and surgery โ€“ Kenyan doctors will observe advanced surgeries at TTC facilities to enhance skills and share best practices.
โ€ข Rehabilitation services โ€“ Kenyan doctors and therapists will gain exposure to TTCโ€™s neuro-rehabilitation programs, strengthening local expertise.

The talks culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Health, represented by CS Duale, and Toyota Tsusho President & CEO Toshimitsu Imai. The MoU formalizes the framework for cooperation in Kenyaโ€™s health sector.

This partnership aligns with Kenyaโ€™s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which prioritizes Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through strategic public-private partnerships.

The meeting was also attended by Prime Cabinet Secretary Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, PS for Public Health Mary Muthoni, and DG Health Dr. Patrick Amoth.
