Meeting between the Head of Public Service and Principal Secretaries updates on progress in UHC
Nairobi , 2025 The monthly meeting between the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service, Mr. Felix Koskei, provided updates from all State Departments on key government programs and initiatives.
Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, highlighted significant progress in strengthening public health as part of the government's Universal Health Coverage (UHC) agenda. Among the key achievements reported was the onboarding of 106,686 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) onto the Electronic Community Health Information System (E-CHIS), a crucial step in enhancing data-driven healthcare service delivery at the community level. Additionally, 8,572,860 households have been registered on E-CHIS, ensuring improved access to primary healthcare services.
The operationalization of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in 46 counties was also noted as a major milestone, improving coordination and efficiency in healthcare provision. These achievements reflect continued progress in strengthening primary healthcare, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring quality, affordable healthcare for all Kenyans as the country advances toward Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
