Government Prioritizes Health Security and Emergency Preparedness with NPHI Focus

𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢, 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐲𝐚 - 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 - Health security and public health emergency preparedness remain a top priority for the government, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The National Public Health Institute (NPHI), established in 2022, plays a central role in these efforts. Today, Health Cabinet Secretary Dr. Deborah M. Barasa met with the NPHI board to review the milestones achieved toward the institute’s full functionality and to discuss future n priorities. 

Dr. Barasa reiterated the Ministry of Health’s commitment to fully operationalizing the NPHI, ensuring it is equipped to handle current and future public health emergencies, including the ongoing Mpox threat.
