Enhancing Kenya's Public Health capacity
Nairobi ,2024 The Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Ms. Mary Muthoni, held a meeting with a team from the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC), led by Kenya Country Director Dr. Amy Herman-Roloff.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of the 20-year partnership under the Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Programs (FELTP), which has been instrumental in strengthening Kenya’s public health capacity.
Ms. Muthoni emphasized the importance of the programs in building skills for disease surveillance and outbreak response, while addressing challenges and exploring ways to enhance the collaboration further.
