Cabinet Secretary for Health Engages Development Partners in Health Kenya to Advance Universal Health Coverage
0n 26th September 2024, the Cabinet Secretary for Health Dr. Deborah M. Barasa held a meeting with members of the Development Partners in Health Kenya (DPHK) to discuss the ongoing rollout of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The meeting focused on collaboration and strategic priorities essential for enhancing health services across the country.
Dr. Barasa emphasized the vital role DPHK plays in supporting Kenya's health agenda, providing significant funding and technical assistance. The key collaboration priorities highlighted during the meeting included strengthening community health services, advancing digitization initiatives, establishing primary healthcare networks, and launching the Social Health Authority.
Representatives from various organizations participated in the discussions, including UN agencies, the World Health Organization (WHO), diplomatic missions, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the World Bank Group.
