Government to establish a scheme of service and Governing body for Emergency Medical Personnel
Nairobi ,2024 Principal Secretary State Department for Public Health and Professional has recognised Emergency Medical Services Personnel for their critical role in Primary Health Care.
Speaking at the 10th graduation ceremony of the Kenya Red Cross Training Institute (KRCTI), where 186 graduates qualified in the fields of paramedicine, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Community Health Assistance,the PS highlighted the essential role these professionals play. She noted how their expertise is vital to building a stronger health workforce and improving primary health care access across Kenya.
PS Muthoni also underscored the government’s commitment to fostering a robust career path for EMS professionals, announcing plans to create a Scheme of Service and a governing body to uphold standards and support career progression.
“We are dedicated to providing you with opportunities for growth and advancement,” she remarked, adding that this step would recognize the value of EMS professionals and ensure the highest standards across the sector.
