PS Muthoni urges colleges offering medical training to ensure the courses meet Professional Standards, local and global market needs.

Kiambu ,2024 Principal Secretary for the State Department for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, graced the graduation ceremony at Tricent School of Medical Sciences and Technology, where she reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving the WHO-recommended ratio of 44.5 healthcare workers per 10,000 population.

The PS emphasized the crucial role of private institutions in complementing government efforts to build a well-trained, multidisciplinary health workforce. 

She hailed the graduation of students from various middle-level courses at Tricent as a significant step in strengthening Human Resources for Health (HRH).

PS Muthoni urged all institutions offering or aspiring to offer medical courses to consult professional bodies to ensure their training meets professional standards and equips graduates to meet both local and global health labor market demands.
